A PUPIL at Stonyhurst College enjoyed a taste of army life when he spent a month in Canada with the Queen's Lancashire Regiment.
Henry Russell-Blackburn, 17, now has his sights on a military career when he completes his education. Henry, of Walden Road, Wilpshire, hopes to take a gap year in Australia, then attend Sandhurst military college. His interest in the Queen's Lancashire Regiment was sparked by Stonyhurst old boy and family friend Major Courteney-Harris.
Major Courteney-Harris invited Henry to visit the regiment's HQ in Catterick, to take part in their Waterloo Day celebrations. He said: "I experienced freezing 2am starts and breathtaking sunrises during the week-long exercise that will live with me for a very long time. The Queen's Lancashire Regiment made me feel most welcome. The experience was the chance of a lifetime and unforgettable."
