A LEADING expert in Steiner education will give a talk at the Station House, Whalley, on Tuesday, October 29, at 4pm.
Janni Nicol, early years representative for the Steiner Waldorf Schools Fellowship UK, will speak on: 'What is the right age to begin formal education: is four years old too early?'
Steiner education is one of the fastest growing forms of education today and promotes an unhurried approach to learning. Supporters believe children educated at Steiner schools grow into happy and successful adults, with a strong self-belief.
Janni Nicol was educated at a Steiner school and has published books and articles on many aspects of Steiner education.
The talk has been organised by Acorns Nursery, a Steiner parents and toddlers group based at Withgill Fold, Clitheroe.
Spokesman Sheila Clarkson said: "There is increasing support for education that gives children time to play and socialise, and develop a strong, moral framework. Janni's talk will address issues on the minds of many parents and teachers today."
Anyone interested in attending should contact Jill Hartley on 01254 826635.
