RECENT sorry events have proved that racism remains a problem in football and next Saturday Burnley Football Club will again be doing its best to help "Kick It Out" of the game.
The disgraceful treatment of Emile Heskey and Ashley Cole in Slovakia follows similar problems for English teams in Europe earlier this season.
But if a reminder was needed that the problem still has to be dealt with closer to home, it came at Turf Moor last week.
Stewards had to remove a Nazi flag that was draped over a number of seats by Walsall fans in the Cricket Field end, the displaying of the flag incensing officials of both clubs.
Next Saturday is the club's official "Kick Racism Out of Football" day and the players will all wear T-shirts for the warm-up and the ball boys will also hold up a banner proclaiming "Clarets Say No To Racism".
The programme will feature various articles about the issue and messages from manager Stan Ternent and chairman Barry Kilby.
The club is also hoping that supporters will come forward and help with the distribution of a free publication on the day of the game.
Anyone who is interested in helping to hand them out can contact the club's media and marketing department on 01282 704701.
