PUPILS at Beardwood High School are being urged to look to last year's Year Eleven and think to themselves: "That is what we can achieve."
That is what assistant headteacher Jacquie Petriaho said as last year's pupils returned to the Preston New Road school for their awards evening.
Mrs Petriaho, who was the year head for last year's Year Eleven right from when they first arrived at the school, said: "They are by far our best year so far.
"And not just in terms of their GCSE grades, although 41 per cent getting grades A to C is our best result ever.
"They were a hardworking group who excelled and tried their best in everything they did and enjoyed getting involved in the community.
"The message we are now giving students coming up through the school is that they can achieve just as much and give us just as much to be proud of."
The guest of honour at the event was Euro MP Gary Titley.
