I SEE that Janet Anderson, MP for Rossendale, raised the issue of the lack of NHS dentists in the Valley in Parliament.
There is a lack of NHS dentists all over the country, not just in the Valley and it is caused by the bureaucratic nonsense that the Government throws at NHS dentists.
Treatment has to be justified at every step. The professional recommended actions of the dentist are questionable and the patient is at the mercy of the pen pusher who may, or may not, allow the dentist to administer the necessary remedies.
Every step the dentist makes has to be qualified and proved. No wonder so many have gone into private practice.
I wish the new Valley practice every success and hope that Shane Morgan and his staff do not get swamped by rules and pettyfogging delays.
