A NEW advice surgery for pensioners will be launched in Bury today (Tues Oct 22).
The surgery will be held once a fortnight from 10am to 1pm at Bury Carers Centre at 146 Hornby Street, Bury.
Senior citizens can get advice on pensions, and also potential entitlements such as housing benefit and attendance allowance.
The scheme is being run by Bury social services and the Government's new Pensions Service.
Councillor Mike Connolly, executive member for housing and social services, said: "I am happy to support this partnership and pleased that the surgery will take place in Bury Carers Centre, which is an excellent service created for the carers of Bury."
