THE owner of a shop in Oxford Road, Burnley, was the victim of confidence tricksters who stole £1,200 from his premises.
Police are anxious to speak to four men and two women who were in the shop on Friday afternoon.
While the owner was distracted it is thought one of the group entered the flat above the premises and took the cash. Also stolen was a ladies gold chain valued at £170.
The group are thought to be of Middle Eastern origin as they were speaking in Arabic.
