YOUNG people's views are being sought by St John's Church.
Questionnaires are to be distributed to members of the Church for their opinions on making the Church more youth friendly. Members of the village youth organisations and Sunday School are being invited to design this year's Christmas Card. The design should be suitable for printing in black and white.
All entries should be handed in by Sunday, October 27, to Linda Smith or Barbara Wharton -- don't forget to put your name on the back.
THE bench from Church Square which was recently vandalised has now been replaced by the Borough Council.
COUNCILLOR Mavis Hitchen was very pleased to observe, whilst walking her dog, that the village was looking very tidy and clean. The farmers had tidied up their land and buildings and the Borough Council had made a good job of street cleaning.
FOOD from the Harvest Festival is to be donated to Burnley Women's Refuge.
WOOD for the Church Family Bonfire should be left at the far end of the back garden at the Vicarage (not on the drive).
THE Snooker facilities in the Reading Rooms have been hired for every Friday night. Requests for hiring the rooms should be made to Mrs Frost on 01282 435582. The Reading Rooms can be hired for £10.00 per session.
A LEADER for the Guides is still required. If anyone is interested please contact Lawrence on 01282 428478.
THE Bellringers Coffee Morning is on Saturday from 10am.
