A FORUM on energy efficiency and conservation will be held next week.
The Sustainability Action Partnership will stage the event at the East Lancashire Voluntary Resource Centre, Burnley, on Thursday, October 31.
Ruth Soulsby, a project worker for the partnership, said: "Saving energy can help you save money in addition to saving the planet.
"For every minute the fridge door is left open it will take three minutes to regain its temperature, using up more energy and costing you more."
Speakers from Renewables North West and the Lancashire Energy Advice Centre will speak about climate change and what we can do to reduce energy use.
Local experts will also be on hand to share their knowledge and experience.
The event is free and anyone wishing to book should contact 01282 704605.
