A REALLY neat use of the internet is being employed by the USA Aviation Administration in Alaska (www.alaska.faa.gov).
They have placed a series of web cameras on mountain passes, rocky cliffs and remote villages so pilots can see beyond the horizon.
While weather charts, radar images and tersely worded forecasts provide important data on flying conditions, the cameras can erase any doubts.
