A WOMAN managed to escape from a man who was indecently assaulting her by hitting him over the head with her mobile phone.
The 31-year-old woman was pushed to the ground as she walked in Ryelands Park, Lancaster, at 12.01am on Monday.
The man pinned her down and began to indecently assault her.
However, after hitting the man with the phone, she got back to her feet and was able to make off.
She suffered minor bruising, but did not require further treatment.
The attacker is described as white, in his early 20s, of medium build, 5ft 7ins to 5ft 8ins tall.
He was wearing black jeans, tan-coloured Rockport boots and a light and dark grey shell suit type top with a hood, which was over his head.
A police spokesman asked witnesses to contact the police on 63333.
