A WATCHDOG group is seeking six independent members to help make the community safer and reduce the fear of crime.
The Greater Manchester Police Authority is offering people the chance to play an active part in driving up standards of police performance.
Chairman of the authority, Hindley Green councillor Stephen Murphy, said: "They will have the chance to make a real difference to policing in GMP."

The service is undergoing major reform. It is important that people feel safe and by contributing to the work they could play a part in improving public confidence and reducing the fear of crime.
"The authority is seeking applicants aged over 21 from all walks of life and able to commit to a minimum of one day a week for up to four years."
