CARING residents are urged to come forward and give a child a loving home.
Social services bosses took their plea across the borough during National Adoption Week, even taking a stall at the Asda store in Pilsworth.
They especially need to find homes for older children, sibling groups, disabled youngsters and children of dual heritage.
Prospective adopters must be at least 21 years old, understand children's needs and be able to provide a stable and loving home.
Applicants can be considered regardless of age, marital status or religion. In some instances, allowances are paid.
Preparation sessions for those interested in adoption will be held next month and in spring next year.
For an information pack, phone the family placement team on 253 5457. Facts about adoption are on the council's website, www.bury.gov.uk, under the A-Z of council services.
