A FOOD project will be launched at Colne Open Door Centre next Wednesday , during a free food tasting session.

The project, piloted in Waterside, aims to encourage healthier eating as well as raise related issues such as what food is available in local shops and growing your own.

It will be launched between noon and 2pm and is a joint venture between the Open Door Project, Waterbridge Food Co-operative, Pendle Council and local residents.

The project is looking to recruit a number of short-term trainees who will ask local people what they eat, where they shop and how they cook, as well organising community events.

Trainees will be paid £6.20 and receive accredited training and working hours will be flexible.

Anyone interested should go along to the taster session or contact Sue Hogg at the Open Door Project on 01282 868401 or 860342.
