Shanklys is a new solicitors' practice, set up in Prestwich just a few weeks ago, by partners Jamil Ahmed and Abid Ghani.
Both partners have been in the profession for over five years. Jamil hails from Bradford and Abid lives in Bury.
Although they advise on all areas of law, such as crime, family matters, immigration, conveyancing, and wills and probate, the practice specialises in civil law and, in particular, personal injury.
The partners take instructions in urdu, punjabi and hindi -- as well as English -- and aim to provide accurate but simple legal advice.
They decided to beco0me a member of the Asian Business Federation shortly before setting up in August and in just a short time have found the organisation to be of great assistance in a number of respects.
These include providing the practice with a start up grant, as being a new business, cashflow is its main concern.
The federation has also provided information on support businesses, such as accountants and computer providers.
Said Jamil, "We hope that they will assist us in actively promoting and advertising our business and in doing so help us gain a reputation as one of the best law firms in the North West."
