ON a recent trip 'down memory lane' to Blackpool (as a 17 year old, I moved with my family to Surrey in 1959), I saw my old school, Arnold High in Lytham Road, and could hardly believe one thing that hasn't changed.
Forty or so years on, opposite the school is the metal framed former tram/bus shelter, still intact with its rounded sides.
This Victorian, rather grubby green is still windowless, too -- good to see that some things never change, although the wonderful trams departed from inland many moons ago.
Down here, I do miss all that ozone that used to surge up the clifftops at Little Bispham!
