FIRST North Western strike action by train drivers' union ASLEF this weekend has been called off.
A 19 per cent rise will now be voted on by members on November 19. Strikes, proposed for every Saturday and Sunday until November 24, have also been suspended until after the ballot.
Each walk out by the drivers has forced the cancellation of the East Lancashire line from Preston to Colne and Clitheroe to Manchester.
