NEW businesses were recognised for their skills at an award ceremony yesterday. Hosted by Granada TV's Rob McLoughlin, the Guardian Angel Entrepreneurs Awards 2002 were held at the Garstang Country Hotel and Golf Club and featured the cream of the crop of local businesses.
The coveted award for the Entrepreneur of Year was shared this year between selfstore.it, based at the Network Business Park, between Blackburn and Burnley, and Kaleidoweb, of Nelson.
The companies will share the top prize of £5,000. The Blackburn-based Guardian Angel scheme has been running for the past 10 years. Paul Barker, Thwaites managing director, awarded the prize.
