TIME is running out for a residents' association trying to fill two vacant posts on its committee to avoid closure.
A meeting to discuss the appointment of a new secretary and treasurer was attended by just 15 people, none of whom voluteered for the positions.
Paul Dunn, vice-chairman of the Greenhill Residents' Association, Great Harwood, says it's a case of the spirit being willing but the flesh being weak.
"At the moment we are still afloat but we are still looking," he said.
Now an extraordinary general meeting has been set up in a last-ditch attempt to save the group, which formed three years ago.
Since then members have secured funding to provide computers and software for the 200 residents they represent.
That was followed last month by a further £1,000 grant from the CVS for more software and card tables so whist nights can be held in the Jubilee Centre, the group's base on Greenhill, Great Harwood.
The EGM, at 7pm on Wednesday, November 6, will be attended by a council officer, and Mr Dunn is hopeful that someone will come forward to fill the positions.
In the meantime the group's chairman Les Knowles is on holiday in Canada, unaware that the association is facing closure after the previous post holders left for personal reasons.
