GARRY Flitcroft today hailed Rovers' victory over Arsenal as one of the club's finest results under Graeme Souness.
Rovers became the third team in a week to defeat the champions after Dwight Yorke's second half winner secured a magnificent 2-1 victory at Highbury.
And Flitcroft has warned Celtic fans there's still plenty more to come from this current Rovers squad as they prepare to go in search of further glory north of the border later this week.
"This result must go down as one of our best under the gaffer and we can still get even better," said Flitcroft.
"This is the best dressing room the manager has had since he's been here and definitely the best squad, as well.
"He's got a lot of young lads who work hard for each other and this result shows the ability we've got in this squad at present.
"There's a great team-spirit here, the lads are full of confidence, and the next game can't come quickly enough for us at the moment.
"When you consider that we've still got Damien Duff, Matt Jansen and Andy Cole to still come back into the side as well then you can see just how good a squad we've got here."
Saturday's game was not without controversy, however, as Flitcroft got sent off for a second bookable offence in the 79th minute.
As the Rovers skipper pleaded his innocence, TV evidence later suggested he was harshly treated by referee Graham Barber.
The club are now planning to ask Barber if he will reconsider his decision because there are no formal grounds for appeal when a player is dismissed for two bookings.
"I'm not sure why he booked me the first time. I think it was for the challenge but he didn't really say, he just got the yellow card out," fumed Flitcroft.
"But I thought I won the ball. I certainly didn't say much to him so only he knows what it was for.
"Then with the second one, I thought I definitely got something on the ball and the referee was on the wrong side to see it anyway.
"The linesman didn't give it and not even their bench jumped up and claimed for it so the gaffer said he would look at it.
"He thought it was a disgraceful decision and, if the ref is honest enough, then I'm sure he'll change his mind."
Flitcroft has the support of his manager after Souness commented: "It was never a sending off. I was asked on the televison interviews after the game whether I wanted to see it again before commenting on it but I said I didn't need to because I had the best view of all.
"The ball was coming towards me right in front of the bench and Flitty went and made contact with it first. There was no intent whatsoever and Graham got it wrong.
"When he sees it again I'm sure he'll want to change his mind."
Meanwhile, Arsenal striker Dennis Bergkamp could find himself in hot water with the FA for his part in a separate incident.
The Dutch international appeared to stamp on Rovers defender Nissa Johansson during an off-the-ball incident in a heatedsecond half.
Referee Barber let the incident go unpunished but Bergkamp could now face a trial by TV after the cameras picked it up.
It's not the first time those two have clashed. When Arsenal won 3-2 at Ewood last season, Johansson accused Bergkamp of elbowing him in the head.
In the meantime, Johansson faces a one-match ban himself after picking up his fifth booking of the season in Saturday's game.
