ORGANISERS of the Christmas fair at St John's have renewed their appeal for donations of any items for the event.
The fair will open from 11.30am until 2pm on Saturday, November 16.
Welephant, Fireman Sam and Postman Pat will be in attendance, as well as Father Christmas.
Admission is free, lunches will be on sale and there will be cake, bottle tombola, book and tombola stalls among others, as well as various games.
Tickets will also be on sale for the Grand Christmas Draw with a first prize of a £100 holiday voucher donated by Althams Travel. Two Christmas hampers, turkey, wine, sherry and chocolates are also in the list of prizes.
All contributions will be very gratefully received. Donated goods can be given to members of any of the church organisations before the day of the fair, Saturday, November 16, or on the day.
MONDAY night is wine-making night in the Thursby Rooms at 8pm.
The members of the wine circle are a very friendly lot and will give you a warm welcome.
Several open nights are planned to which guests can be assured of a warm welcome. As far as membership is concerned they say the more, the merrier! If you fancy being educated into the joy, wonder and pleasure of the mystery of changing water into wine, contact Mrs Ashworth on 01282 838835.
NEWS of strange sightings in Cliviger after local postman and councillor Kevin Robinson discovered a bouncy castle on his round.
The colourful fairground attraction is currently in the back yard of the Gordon Lennox pub but nobody appears to know where it has come from or who it belongs to.
Kevin said the inflatable has two blowers attached to either side.
