NELSON runner Lee Anderson achieved a personal best in a recent half-marathon -- and helped raise cash for the local hospice.
Lee took part in the Great North Run, in Newcastle, passing the finishing line in 1hr 42 minutes. It was the second time Lee, who works at Brierfield-based BSN Medical, had completed the gruelling race, shaving minutes off his previous time.
Lee, of Brier Crescent, Nelson, raised £150 by completing the race, all of which he has donated to Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle, which is aiming to raise £950,000 this year to cover running costs.
Christina Cope, community fundraiser at the hospice, thanked Lee for his support.
