A TEENAGER who was trapped under a police car after officers chased a suspected stolen vehicle has been charged with three offences.
The move came as police renewed their appeal for witnesses to the incident, in Halifax Road, Brierfield, at 1.45am on Saturday.
The 15-year-old boy was injured after the two vehicles stopped.
He was taken to Burnley General Hospital but was later arrested by officers.
He was due to appear at Burnley Magistrates Court today and faces allegations of aggravated vehicle taking, driving without any vehicle documents and breach of curfew.
An official police investigation has been launched into the incident.
It is not yet known if the matter is to be referred to the Police Complaints Authority.
Officers said the R-registered vehicle was believed to have been taken from Brennand Street, Burnley, sometime between 9pm on Friday and 1.20am on Saturday.
Detective Sergeant Steve Mounsey, of Burnley CID, said he wanted anyone in the Halifax Road area at the time of the incident to come forward with information.
He said: "I would urge anybody who may have been in the area at the time or who may have been passing through on their way home to contact us if they have any information about the incident."
