SAM Ellis is hoping that Burnley's woeful record at Blundell Park will be a thing of the past after tonight's match at Grimsby.
The Clarets have lost both matches at the ground since their return to the first division, 1-0 two seasons ago and a damaging 3-1 defeat in the penultimate match of last season, a result that ultimately cost them a play-off place.
The assistant manager admitted: "If we knew why it had happened we would have done something about it. What we have to do is be aware of what has gone wrong and get it sorted tonight."
Boss Stan Ternent has some options ahead of the game in terms of both personnel and formation and Ellis admitted: "We are versatile in terms of team formation and we have got some good players.
"In that way the manager can change things if he wants as he did on Saturday."
That change saw striker Ian Moore sacrificed for midfielder Paul Weller, a move that helped the Clarets to get back into a game that may have been lost but still had some good moments.
"We canmm take some positives out of it, in the fact that we created a lot of chances," said Ellis. "Sometimes they go in but others you don't get the breaks.
"But it is good that we have tonights' game, it is good to keep playing and we will try to start a new run tonight."
