MILL Hill Working Men's Club raised more than £1,300 for the Magic Eye Appeal after weeks of hard work.
The organisers at the social club, on Moorgate Street, Blackburn, raised money by getting local firms to give sponsorship, holding raffles and running a concert and bingo night.
The concert last Thursday pulled in around 170 people who came to watch the entertainers, who also gave their services for free.
Singers Peter Diamond, who donated £25, and Gavin Young were joined on stage by comedian Terry Devon.
Keith Matthewman, vice president of the club, said the night was a great success and finished off the fundraising nicely.
"It was an excellent night, everything from the acts to the bingo, the raffle and the collection tins on the bar went well.
"With around 170 people in we were able to get together a fair amount to add to the money from before.
"We got money from three brewers -- Thwaites, John Smiths and Federation -- as well as a number of firms from the Mill Hill area.
"These include Spar, Smith's Fruit Shop, Snax cafe, Dorothy's Fashions, Bennet's Newsagents and Stanley Racing."
