POLICE in Rossendale today warned motorists that every car which has property on display is a potential target for thieves.
The warning comes after 10 cars were broken into in Bacup, Waterfoot and Rawtenstall over the past week.
Detective Sergeant Andy Gilbert, of Rossendale police, said: "The message is not to give thieves an easy ride but this weekend in particular they have been in their element because people have been leaving all sorts of property on display, which makes cars and easy target.
"I would ask people to put things out of sight and if they have CD players with removable fronts to take them off."
If anybody has any information about car theft or has any concerns then they can contact the Rossendale CID office on 01706 237440.
