PUPILS at Hesketh Fletcher High School are to have their creative work displayed inside Manchester Cathedral and are inviting the wider community to become involved in the project.
Leanne Gray, aged 16, will be the first pupil from the Atherton school to have her design mounted in the city centre church as part of a campaign to involve young people in designing and creating altar frontals, banners, kneelers and wall hangings.
Jean Hensey, head of Humanities said: "This piece will be the first in a long line of exhibits, and Leanne is already helping two younger pupils realise their dream. We are not keeping this project within the school and would love to hear from anyone in the local community who wishes to get involved."
