THE tempting aroma wafting from Fairfield Farm Shop has had the customers flocking and it is all in the name of a good cause.
The shop in Longsight Road, Clayton-le-Dale, has been taking part in British Sausage Appreciation Week and inviting customers to sample an array of succulent bangers.
Owners Louise and Phillip Edge are holding tastings every day between 11am and 3pm until Sunday and a percentage of takings are going to the Cystic Fibrosis charity.
Louise said: "The event is a little more pertinent for us because one of the ladies who works in our shop has a daughter with cystic fibrosis.
"We've been doing well. Instead of the usual eight varieties of sausage we've had some new flavours on such as Moroccan.
"All the meat comes from pigs farmed by ourselves."
The Fairfield Farm Shop is one of 9,000 independent butchers across the country taking part in the week of celebration of the British banger.
