VIEWERS of an interactive game show channel launched recently on digital television may recognise a familiar face.
One of the five presenters fronting Channel Avago is former Westholme School pupil Carolyn Ashton, who is now based in London but used to live in Wilpshire.
After stints as a model, radio presenter and a stand-up comic Carolyn tried her hand at television and hasn't looked back.
Her TV CV includes presenting a show on Manchester United's channel, MUTV, fronting ITV's Dial-a-Date and a variety of digital programmes.
And now the 32-year-old can be seen on Channel Avago.
Carolyn, whose parents Harry and Betty were both teachers in Blackburn -- Harry at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School and Betty at Westholme -- said: "Avago is one big game show, which is fully-interactive with the viewers, so obviously it's live. I'm having a great time doing it because basically anything can happen. It's such a laugh."
Carolyn left Blackburn when she was 18, for university in London. From there she got into modelling and while on a shoot in New York decided to try her hand at stand-up comedy.
Carolyn said: "I miss the people in the north, I miss their honesty and straight forwardness. I live in London now but I get back to Blackburn as much as I can. You can have a much better laugh with people from the North of England."
