HALLOWE'EN revellers hoping to visit Pendle Hill tonight are being warned of traffic and parking restrictions.
The hill attracts thousands of visitors every Hallowe'en, due to its historic connection with the Lancashire Witches.
It was closed to the public last year because of foot and mouth restrictions, but is to reopen again this year and police said they were expecting a larger than usual number of visitors.
A temporary one-way system around Pendle Hill will come into force at 5.30pm tonight. Vehicles can access the hill and Sabden from the A59, but there will be no access from Sabden to the hill.
A one-way traffic system will operate from Barley to Four Lane Ends and there will be no access from Annal's Cross into Barley.
Parking will be available on the hillside, but motorists are asked to leave on their sidelights and parking will be strictly prohibited on the nick of the hill.
Police officers from Clitheroe and Burnley will patrol the hill and a mountain rescue team will be on stand-by.
