A CLITHEROE teenager who used cannabis to help control his acne got himself in a spot of trouble with the police.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Jonathon Gorge Blenkinship was seen to approach a car with two occupants and a piece of cannabis was found inside the vehicle.
Blenkinship, 18, of Grindleton Road, West Bradford, Clitheroe, pleaded guilty to two offences of possessing cannabis and was fined £150 with £65 costs.
Tom Snape, prosecuting, said that police had gone to Blenkinship's home address and searched his bedroom where they found four small pieces of cannabis.
Roger Pickles, defending, said it had not been a good day for Blenkinship whose dad had not been best pleased when three police officers came to search his home. Blenkinship had five previous convictions for possessing cannabis and Mr Pickles said he used it to help with a nervous condition.
"He suffers from acne and he has found that breaks out when his nerves are bad," said Mr Pickles. "The cannabis helps with that problem."
