A RATHER misleading, but not illegal, e-mail is doing the rounds that sees everyone in your address book receive a message you have not sent.
Users receive a link to an e-card site FriendGreetings.com where you are invited to install some computer code in order to view an e-card. Running the programme also unwittingly gives permission to send a similar message to everyone in your e-mail address book.
Such aggressive marketing tactics are not new and are not illegal and similar campaigns are likely to be seen in the run up to Christmas.
If you receive a similar message just delete it and do not download the software.
