A BOY of 16 admitted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after a teenager's skull was broken with a golf club.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, entered the plea at Preston Crown Court following the incident last August at Darwen Moorland High School's playing fields.
Steven Heyward, 17, of Darwen, received a double skull fracture and it was feared he may never hear again. He was attacked when he went to retrieve golf balls for some younger friends.
His friend Michael Box, 17, of Darwen, suffered a dislocated shoulder, cut and bruised face and broken thumb. A 15 year old pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily in connection with those injuries.
In addition, a 16 year-old girl admitted affray and four other children, aged 14 and 15, admitted public order offences. They will be sentenced on November 29.
