A MAN threatening to jump off Leigh Town Hall in the early hours of the morning eventually slide down a drainpipe.
Leigh firefighters, complete with aerial ladder platform, were called to the town centre scene at 1am on Monday to rescue the man from the white tower.
However, despite warnings from police to wait to be rescued, the man decided to slide down a drainpipe to the ground, where he was arrested and cautioned for a public order offence.
