A MAN who bit a policeman's arm while being arrested has been jailed for six months.
David McNichol was found drunk and covered in blood outside a Hindley Green pub where he had smashed a window after being thrown out after head-butting a customer.
At Bolton Crown Court McNichol, aged 37, of Langset Avenue, Hindley admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and criminal damage. He was jailed for six months.
Prosecutor Vanessa Thompson said that McNichol had been drinking in The Swan and towards the end of the evening McNichol head-butted another customer. McNichol's father and his girlfriend Lorraine Durcan
escorted him from the pub.
McNichol returned and put his fist through the pub window causing severe cuts to his forearm. He was dragged away by his father and brother.
