ROVERS striker Craig Hignett is a transfer target for first division Coventry City, Graeme Souness confirmed last night.
He has been out of favour at Ewood Park this season and is known to be looking for a move that would bring him first team football.
Souness said: "Coventry have been in contact about him and we will have to see where it goes from there."
The two clubs have already done business this season with Souness delighted by the £1.5million signing off midfielder David Thompson.
Rovers chief executive John Williams admitted this morning: "I have had a conversation with Coventry and with Craig's agent and we will keep talking.
"I think we are looking at some type of short term loan in the first instance between now and the end of the calendar year, anything from four to eight weeks."
