BIRTHDAY girl Alison Mayman enjoyed the party of a lifetime when she was reunited with her two sisters for the first time in 14 years.
There were hugs and laughter when the three sisters met at a Hawaiian theme birthday party at the Waddington Village Club.
Alison, of Cardigan Avenue, Clitheroe, was reunited with sister Carol Anne Vaughan, who lives in Washington State, USA, and Jeanette Martin, from Wales.
She was 11 when her two older sisters left the family home in West End, Oswaldtwistle; Carol Anne to work as a nanny in America, and Jeanette to join the Royal Navy.
Although she has since seen them both individually, the three have never been together at the same time.
About 100 family and friends attended the 50th birthday bash, including Carol Anne's son and his family, who hail from California and Oregon in America.
Alison said: "It was the best birthday party I could have hoped for. I was young when my sisters left home and we were always very close. Being reunited was wonderful.
Alison received gifts of jewellery and clothes, as well as a surprise trip to Jersey from husband Eric. She thanked daughter Louise, son-in-law Neil and son Ian for arranging the party.
