THE headteacher of Park High School in Colne praised his staff and pupils for their achievements, during the annual prize evening, after spending a year in the midst of a major refurbishment.

Mr Alan Chambers said: "Within school we were literally working on a building site for much of last year while the major refurbishment of the Design and Technology block took place. This was a very difficult time for all concerned but everyone coped very well.

"It makes some of the examination achievements even more remarkable."

He also praised the sporting achievements of the pupils and said it was an outstanding year for the school with Year 11 leavers being 'an exceptional bunch'.

He said there had been comings and going in the staffing but he was delighted that the school now had a full complement.
