AN Accrington man was given a 12-month conditional discharge after being found guilty of keeping, transporting and dumping waste.
Hyndburn magistrates heard that the Environment Agency visited land behind Heritage Home Improvement, in Penny House Lane, Accrington, owned by Adam St John Irving, after a complaint from Hyndburn Borough Council.
The court was told that enforcement officer Michelle Gallagher found two cubic metres of controlled waste, including cardboard boxes, slates, doors, plastic packaging and tree cuttings.
A significant amount of the waste was piled in a residential area and was not contained.
Irving, 35, of Red House Farm, Burnley Road, Clayton-le-Moors, was given the discharge and ordered to pay £850 to the Environment Agency for the three offences.
