DETECTIVES were today still waiting to quiz a man following a shooting incident in Burnley on Thursday night.
The 44-year-old, who has not been named but is a local, was admitted to Burnley General Hospital's accident and emergency department at about 9pm on Thursday, suffering from gunshot wounds to the stomach.
His injuries were not life threatening but he underwent an operation yesterday and was today recovering in hospital.
Detectives have launched an investigation into the incident and the type of weapon used, although police confirmed some sort of gun had caused the injuries.
Details of where the man was when he was shot have not been released by officers .
DS Steve Mounsey, of Burnley CID, said: "Detectives will be speaking to the man as soon as he is fit enough following the surgery."
