CLARETS chairman Barry Kilby admitted he is delighted to have agreed an extension with both manager Stan Ternent and his assistant Sam Ellis.
The deals will ensure he is in charge at Turf Moor for the next 18 months - at least!
"From our point of view as a club we know we have got two very tough seasons ahead of us," he said, acknowledging the financial problems that followed the collapse of ITV Digital.
"Having said that I cannot think of a better management team than Stan and Sam to help us achieve our two key objectives.
"First we have to weather the storm financially at the same time as we have to stay in the first division.
"I can't think of anyone better and we are delighted, as a board, to have them at the helm until the end of next season and then maybe beyond.
"The problems we are suffering exist right throughout football and we are delighted that we will be continuing to battle on as a team. We know that we can get through this together."
Kilby admitted that he had been looking to sort out the extensions for a while but he confessed: "These things do take time.
"The good thing is that both parties wanted it to work out and this is all part of our strategy to keep things moving forward at Burnley Football Club.
"I believe that Stan is the best manager that this club has had since Harry Potts and it is great to have everything sorted out before the current deal runs out next summer."
