PUPILS from Nelson will join thousands of young people nationwide when they take part in a huge vocational event later this month.
The students from Brierfield High School will be among children from more than 300 schools trying their hand at a range of jobs from plumbing to IT at the SkillCity event in Manchester from November 13-16.
The four-day event is aimed at promoting awareness of the importance of vocational skills in the workplace.
Project Director Peter Weston said: "We are delighted that children from Nelson will be attending SkillCity as it will be a change from the normal type of school trip and of particular benefit to those pupils looking for ideas or making decisions about their careers."
