A MAN has been cleared of assault, causing actual bodily harm, but is awaiting sentence after breaching a community rehabilitation order.
Terry Grimshaw, 22, formerly of Belfield Road, Accrington, was found not guilty of the violence allegation after a two day trial at Burnley Crown Court.
He admitted breach of the two-year order imposed after he was convicted of three charges of burglary and one of theft and was bailed until November 29 for a pre-sentence report.
He has been committed for sentence by magistrates.
Grimshaw was ordered to live at a bail hostel in Ellesmere Port and told by Judge Lesley Newton the fact she was adjourning the case should not be taken as any indication of what the sentence might be.
She went on: "On the face of it the decision to impose a community rehabilitation order for a series of burglaries was surprising."
