TWO goals in the final ten minutes consigned Darwen to another disappointing NWCL Division Two defeat against Norton United.
The mid-table clash looked destined for a scoreless draw, until a pair of defensive mistakes gifted the Stoke side all three points.
Andy Bright turned the ball into his own net for the first goal and, soon after, a Jimmy Khan slip-up allowed Brown to seal the victory for Norton, much to the Darwen manager's dismay.
"I have to say we're struggling at the moment," said Wilkes. "I felt we just shaded it on chances created, but we've gone and shot ourselves in the foot in the final stages."
The home side dominated proceedings in a first-half that saw Denny Khan go close and Lee Webb clip the top of the crossbar after a fine run.
The best chance of the game fell to Khan two minutes into the second period when a clearance by the Norton keeper fell straight to the forward who scuffed his shot with the goal at his mercy.
