CLITHEROE moved into the third round of the Worthington Trophy with a 3-2 win at Woodley Sports.
Mark Stewart opened the scoring with a shot from a corner on 10 minutes and Clitheroe created several chances but couldn't extend their lead.
The home team equalised on 30 minutes even though they had been reduced to 10 men for a sending off.
The home team then took the lead when Morton scored his second goal of the game.
Clitheroe equalised through Lee Cryer and Lee Buggie gave the visitors the win on 88 minutes.
The game was spoiled when Stuart Todhunter dislocated his shoulder. Manager Lee Sculpher was pleased with the result and said: "The team played well and we deserve to go through to the third round."
With the FA Vase game only a week away, Sculpher wanted to give the majority of his squad a good run out.
He said: "If Bedlington were here today they certainly did not see the best of my team.
"It was a good win for the club but now the Vase is the next game in line and will take my attention and that of the fans for the rest of this week."
