CRAIG Brown heaped praise on the fans for their part in the 3-1 demolition of Burnley at Deepdale.
The ground had seemed to quienten down in recent weeks as fans became frustrated with some results.
But the old cauldron of noise metaphor was used in abundance as the North End faithful got behind the team as they battled back from 1-1 to win 3-1.
Brown said: "The fans have been very good, in fact their support has been fantastic.
"The players kept themselves going, but so did the fans and they certainly played a role.
"The volume was there and it pushed the lads in.
"I want to make sure the fans know we appreciate the support we get from them."
