A THEATRE group will celebrate its 21st anniversary in the New Year by replaying the musical which was its debut production.
St John Southworth will perform Bugsy Malone at the Parish Centre in Nelson in January.
But the show will have a new slant - because some of the principal roles will, unusually, be played by grown-ups.
Spokesperson Clare Parkinson said: "The stars of this show are traditionally youth members, but for this particular production Janet Philbrook, who is directing, has decided to cast some of the main roles with adults.
"And the group is very pleased to have some of its past members returning for the show - in particular Matthew Davies is playing the lead role of Bugsy."
In addition, Gordon Ingleby will play Fat Sam, Phillip Morris his arch-rival Dandy Dan and Louise Davies will be Tallulah.
The production will run from January 28 until February 1 next year at the parish centre in Vaughan Street, Nelson.
