RESIDENTS in the Duke Bar area of Burnley are being urged to bring Christmas gifts to their next local police surgery so they can be security coded for free by their local beat officer.
PC Richard Collopy is holding the surgery from 2pm until 4pm on November 20 at the Kwik Save store on Briercliffe Road.
In between marking property, PC Collopy will also be happy to give out general advice on protecting presents and how best to keep yourself and your property secure over the festive season.
Residents with specific concerns or information about local crime would also be welcome at the surgery.
PC Collopy said: "The surgeries are proving very successful with around 30 visitors to the last one.
"Many of them came to have mobile phones marked but others came to talk to me about local crime and disorder issues, which I am now starting to address.
