RESIDENTS of Brothers Street and Shorrock Lane in Blackburn are being asked to join an anti-litter blitz at the canalside gardens on Saturday.
Councillors Maureen Rishton and Ronald O'Keeffe have helped to organise the clear-up after complaints.
Coun O'Keeffe said: "We're hoping as many people as possible can get down there. The gardens are in a right state but if they were cleared up they could look nice."
The council has agreed to prune trees and bushes, while volunteers will be provided with litter pickers, tools and gloves.
Helpers are asked to meet at the gardens at 10am. More details from Coun O'Keeffe on 01254 260146 or Coun Rishton on 01254 208498.
