I WAS shocked to read of the concerns (Oct 24) of the headteacher in Radcliffe regarding the possibility of bulldozing the town's two high schools and replacing them with one new school.
It is rather disturbing that, as a headteacher, he feels that he has to use the Radcliffe Area Board as the forum to air his concerns, to inform everyone that he is unsure of precisely what is going on with his own school, and to ask to be better informed about any future plans.
Does anyone at the LEA or in Councillor Steve Perkins' Lifelong Learning Department ever keep the main players informed? Or is this just another example of this council's dictatorship (I mean leadership) style?
Head of Radcliffe High, Mr Rollinson, called for the matter to be dealt with in "an open manner". Well, pigs might fly, sir! The decision about what will happen will no doubt have already been made by "the boys at the top" with no regard to those whose lives are affected by it.
